I grew up in a Christian home and have been in church for most of my life, though I didn’t become a Christian until the age of fourteen. My grandfather was a pastor in a small-town church in western Romania, where my love for music was born. My grandfather was a man of God and had instilled in me from an early age respect and reverence for God.
A significant influence in my musical journey has also been my uncle and youth pastor Pavel Oprea. He was a constant source of motivation, guidance, and leadership, and I am always grateful for how he impacted my life and my walk with the Lord.
I attended Bible School right after High School and was called to help lead worship at Tuesday Night Chapel Service. Here I learned so much from more experienced worship leaders, and I was growing in my walk with the Lord each week. It was during this time at the Bible School that I became the lead singer of the worship band called "Nihil Sine Deo."
Nihil Sine Deo is Latin for "Nothing Without God," and we chose this name because we felt this was a message we wanted people to come to know, that there is no real life apart from God.
In 2006 we recorded an independent worship album titled “All I Want,” with two original songs and several songs from other Christian artists.
Soon after this recording project, we were receiving invitations to churches, conferences and music festivals around the country. The leaders of the Bible School asked us to lead worship at the annual National Youth Camp. This gathering brought together over three thousand young adults from all over the country, out in the mountains, camping for an entire week and seeking and worshipping God.
Later that year, our band got nominated for best worship band at a well-known Christian Music Festival in the city of Arad, Romania.
My time with the band lasted until March of 2007 when I moved to London, England. Here I joined Hillsong Church, where I served on the production team and was a background singer for a couple of years. I was one of the leading vocalists for a Christmas Special Song Performance in 2008 and also credited on the "Hail To The King" Live Album recording for a production assistant role.
After my move to California, at the end of 2008, I got married to my soulmate and settled at her home church, Bethany Romanian Baptist Church in La Habra. Here, I helped revive the Sunday Night worship service, trying to combine both blended and contemporary worship songs.
In April 2013, I served as a staff worship leader for The Rock Church in Riverside, and FPC Church in Fullerton. Here I managed teams and volunteers, used Planning Center Online for scheduling singers and musicians, was in charge of band rehearsals and recruiting and training new volunteers.
In October 2014, I released my first solo project, with producer Daniel Viramontes from S1 Studios in Fullerton, California. The album had five original worship songs. I had the pleasure of working with some very talented musicians on this project, including Corey Gonzalez who mastered the record and drummer Emanuel Cervantes aka (E-man).
Currently, I reside in Southern California, with the love of my life Diana and our beautiful daughter Adalyn Grace. I serve on the worship team at Agape Christian Church in Yorba Linda, California.
